[Gyeongsang Daily Newspaper = Reporter Kim Kyung-chul] On the 10th, Dongguk University WISE Campus invited Choi Bun-do, Chairman of the Vietnam Kocham Association (KOCHAM) and Chairman of the PTV Group, to hold a ‘Gyeongju-style World Citizenship Education Invitational Lecture’ at the Wonhyo Hall Global Esis Hall on the main campus, sponsored by Gyeongju City.
Chairman Choi Bun-do gave a lecture on the topic of ‘ASEAN, Beyond the Korean Wave’, and about 150 people including Gyeongju citizens, WISE Campus faculty and staff, and current students participated in the lecture. After the lecture, Chairman Choi had a Q&A session with the attendees.
Gyeongju-style World Citizenship Education is a series of premium liberal arts lectures planned by the WISE Campus Global Convergence Research Institute as part of a government-academic cooperation project with Gyeongju City, and will be held every month.
Professor Lee Young-chan of the Global Convergence Research Institute, who prepared this event, said, “We hope to provide lectures on key topics related to global citizenship, such as cultural diversity, sustainable development goals, and international development cooperation, to Gyeongju citizens so that they can acquire the qualities of responsible global citizens, and we hope to create a model for fostering local talent and global specialization in Gyeongju.”
